Looking Down

The leaves have fallen and the trees are bare. Moods can get a bit down this time of year when the holidays are past and the sunlight is scant. Even more so in 2020 when friends and families are suffering and alone. “Stay safe, stay home” are the mantras we practice to keep our loved ones healthy and our health care system robust. But does that mean that we have to give up nature? And in cities has nature given up on us?

Mindful Walking

A mindful walk might be just what is needed. This isn’t a normal walk. You won’t get much mileage in. You’ll stay close to home. You won’t get your heart-rate up and in fact, the goal would be to lower it.

Easy Steps

  • Find a quiet street, block or park.
  • With each slow step feel your foot planting on the earth, grounding you.
  • Slow down. Way down. Even slower.
  • Focus on your breath. Clear your mind.
